Anti-blinding
devices
|
| Kason
offers a variety of anti-blinding devices that increase production
by dislodging near-size particles from apertures of the screen.
These devices reduce the clearance between the rotating paddle
and the cylindrical screen without contacting or abrading
the screen. Narrowing the gap between the rotating element
and the screen surface enhances screening rates under near
size conditions, thereby increasing throughput.
At top left, rubber wiper
blades handle fibrous material that would otherwise become
entangled in brush bristles or wrap around serrated edges.
Rubber blades allow oversize particles to pass by the rotating
blade, and are also effective in liquid/solids separations.
|
At left center, integral air brushes keep screens clean when
processing with fine meshes that would be susceptible to damage
or abrasion by mechanical anti-blinding devices. Air enters
at the end of the hollow drive shaft and exits through multiple
air nozzles, blowing the screen clean.
At bottom left, brushes are
flexible, and maintained approximately 1/16" to 1/8"
(1.6mm to 3.2mm) away from the screen surface to prevent
damage, while allowing desired particles to pass easily
through the screen openings.

Bag
Dump Stations
|
| Centri-Sifter®
centrifugal screeners are available with integral bag dump
stations, with or without dust collectors. Normally configured
for installation at mezzanine level, they afford a sufficiently
low deck height for operators to dump sacks and other containers,
while allowing material to discharge into conveyors, process
equipment or storage vessels below.
Bag dump stations with optional
dust hoods draw ambient air and dust from dumping activities
onto the exterior of two cartridge filters that derive vacuum
from a top-mounted exhaust fan. Dust
|
accumulated on the filter's exterior surfaces is dislodged
by overcoming continuous negative pressure within the cartridge
filters, with positive pressure introduced in short blasts
on a timed cycle by pulse jet nozzles. Dislodged material
falls into the screener while instant resumption of negative
pressure collects any dust generated by the filter cleansing
operation.
The Bag Dump Station components
are constructed of stainless steel and finished to industrial,
food, dairy and pharmaceutical standards.

Twin centrifugal
configuration
|
Kason
twin Centri-Sifter® configurations are designed
for applications requiring greater capacity than a single
high-capacity unit can provide. These duplex units are equipped
with a splitter to evenly divide the flow of incoming material,
regardless of feed rate.

Integral
feeder
|
Integral
feeders eliminate the need for separate units while reducing
overhead space and length requirements. Powered by its own
variable speed motor and drive, the unit offers independent
control of material feed ratesregulated by the machine
operator or from the control panelprolonging screen
life by preventing overloads due to surging.

Clean-in-place
(CIP)
|
Centri-Sifter®
centrifugal screeners for Clean-In-Place (CIP) applications
are available with quick-disconnect fittings, ground/polished
welds and construction to rated for high pressures and temperatures.
Internal nozzles can spray cleaning and rinsing solutions
to sterilize the screener's interior hands-free.

Design,
construction and finish to FDA, 3-A, BISSC, EEC and other
sanitary standards
|
All Centri-Sifter® centrifugal screeners are
available designed, constructed and finished to industrial,
food, dairy, and pharmaceutical standards including FDA, 3-A,
BISSC, EEC and others. Sanitary screeners generally offer
one or more of the following features:
|
- Clean-In-Place (CIP) spray
nozzles
- Radius corners and ground/polished
welds
- Quick-release fittings
- Three-bearing cantilevered
shaft for quick removal of internals
- Thread-free internals
and tool-free disassembly for fast, thorough washdown

Design,
construction and finish to pharmaceutical specifications
|
| Centri-Sifter®
centrifugal screeners for pharmaceutical applications are
available with the options listed above, and in miniature
sizes (shown) ideal for screening, scalping, de-lumping and
dewatering small batches of pharmaceutical powders. In less
than one minute and with no tools, the unit's end plate, cylindrical
screen and shaft-mounted paddle assembly can be removed, providing
access to sanitize all material contact surfaces. The unit
is constructed of stainless steel with all continuous welds
ground and polished to FDA as well as 3A, BISSC and other
standards. |
